University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) welcomed Professor Dr. Ajmal Hinas, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Faculty of Engineering at South Eastern University of Sri Lanka, on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. The visit, hosted by UITS’s Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), focused on the university’s advanced technological facilities. Among the prominent figures from UITS greeting Professor Hinas were Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar; and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Also in attendance were Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering, and Al Imtiaz, Associate Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering.ย During his visit, Professor Hinas toured the Robotics Laboratory and the Modern Computer Laboratory within the Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) Department. He was joined by ASM Ahsanul Sarkar Akib, Managing Director & CEO at ROBO Tech Valley and International Robo Tech Olympiad 2025, suggesting a potential future collaboration or interest in robotics initiatives.
