University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. The University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS), through its Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Bangladesh Association of Contact Center and Outsourcing (BACCO) during the prestigious “BPO Summit Bangladesh 2025”, held on June 22, 2025 at Senaprangan, Dhaka.The MoU outlines collaborative efforts between UITS and BACCO to foster industry-academia linkage, enhance student engagement in the BPO and IT-enabled services sector, and open new avenues for training, internships, and career development for UITS students.
UITS was represented by a high-level delegation led by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor; Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar; and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC. The esteemed presence of these leaders from the university solidified the bilateral agreement, highlighting the profound importance of this new collaboration. Distinguished guests from BACCO and BPO Summit 2025 included Mr. Tanvir Ibrahim, President; Mr. Md. Tanzirul Basher, Vice President; and Mirdha Md. Mahfuz Ul Haque Chayan, Chairman, PR and Publication Subcommittee, BACCO. Their esteemed presence added significant value to the occasion and reflected the commitment of both the industry and academia toward meaningful collaboration and national development. This partnership aims to strengthen practical learning experiences and future employment opportunities by integrating academic expertise with industry demands. The UITS delegation expressed optimism that this MoU will contribute significantly to building a skilled workforce aligned with the national vision for a Smart and Digital Bangladesh.
