University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. UITS is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organizations.

The Department of IT proudly hosted the Intra-University Hackify Fest 2025 on April 27โ28, featuring four exciting categories: IT Olympiad, CTF (Junior & Senior), and Programming Contest (Junior & Senior). The fest brought together passionate students from across the university to showcase their skills, innovation, and teamwork. The two-day event concluded with a vibrant Prize Giving Ceremony on April 28, held at the Ratnagarva Tahamina Rahman Multipurpose Hall. An insightful Seminar on Cyber Security was also conducted, shedding light on critical issues in the digital world and empowering students with knowledge on protecting data and systems. We were honored by the gracious presence of our Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan; Treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed; Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam; Head of the CSE Department, Mr. Al-Imtiaz; and Head of the IT Department, Md. Sakib Bin Alam, who joined us to inspire the participants and present the awards.
