INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), through its Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully hosted a pivotal workshop titled “AI Powered Impact Startups: Learn How to Build a Startup That Solves a Social or Environmental Problem” on Tuesday, 20th May, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:15 PM at the Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall, brought together aspiring entrepreneurs, students, and key figures from the “Accelerator Bangladesh” program. The workshop, a collaboration with “Accelerator Bangladesh,” a startup acceleration program under the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Ecosystem Development (DEIED) Project, aimed to foster innovation and entrepreneurship by connecting with the University Innovation HUB Program and Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority.
Dr. Muhammad Arifur Rahman, National Program Coordinator of Accelerating Bangladesh, delivered a compelling presentation on “AI Powered Startup.” His address delved into the immense potential of Artificial Intelligence to drive innovation and growth in the startup landscape, highlighting how AI can be leveraged to create new products, services, and business models. Dr. Rahman also candidly addressed the challenges and opportunities for AI startups within the specific context of the Bangladeshi market, covering aspects such as infrastructure, talent, and funding. He further outlined effective strategies for developing and scaling AI-powered solutions, emphasizing the crucial role of Accelerating Bangladesh in fostering AI innovation through their supportive programs and initiatives.
Adding to the practical insights, Umme Kulsum, Founder & CEO of Instajob, shared her invaluable experiences in a session titled “Idea to Impact Journey of Instajob.” Her presentation provided a real-world perspective on transforming an initial concept into a successful and impactful venture. The workshop saw the participation of a distinguished team from Accelerating Bangladesh, including Md. Shariful Islam, Senior Program Coordinator; BM Banjir Ahmmed, Lead Business Coach; Prosun Bepari, Business Coach; and Shafikul Alam Saif, Business Coach, alongside other executives.
Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC, delivered the welcoming remarks, setting an encouraging tone for the event for University Innovation Hub winners. The workshop attracted a significant turnout of 110 final year students from the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Civil Engineering, along with Md. Tarikul Islam, Proctor, UITS, and Md. Tasnin Tanvir, Lecturer (CSE), who also serves as supervisor for Industrial Attachments. This workshop marks a significant step in empowering the next generation of Bangladeshi entrepreneurs to leverage the power of AI in addressing critical social and environmental issues, reinforcing UITS’s commitment to nurturing innovation and practical problem-solving.
