INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully hosted the โLaunchPad by University Innovation Hub Program Town Hallโ on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. The event served as a dynamic platform for innovation, entrepreneurship, and student empowerment, aligning with UITS’s vision of nurturing future-ready professionals. The Town Hall was honored by the presence of Mr. Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, Project Director of the Digital Entrepreneurship and Innovation Eco-System Development Project, under the Bangladesh Hi-Tech Park Authority (BHTPA). Mr. Shahriar graced the event as the Chief Guest, delivering a motivational address to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs. He commended the Universityโs efforts to prepare students for careers in the IT/ITES sectors and highlighted the need for stronger synergy between academia and industry. Emphasizing the pivotal role of startup-scale entrepreneurs, he recommended involving them more actively in the Innovation Hub to promote practical, industry-driven learning and development. The event was chaired by Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Honorable Vice-Chancellor of UITS, with Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer of UITS, attending as Special Guest. A keynote presentation was delivered by Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC, who offered valuable insights into the UITS Innovation Hub Program, outlining its objectives and opportunities for student engagement. Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering and Mr. Al Imtiaz , Head, Department of Computer Science & Engineering also attended the seminar session. Other notable speakers included: Mr. Syed Fazle Farhan, Program Manager, UIHP, Mr. Kazi Akib, Business Development Manager, BRAC CED, and UIHP Mentor, Mr. Hasibul Hossain Rifat, Founder & CSEO of Astronomy Pathshala, Ms. Sumaiya Matiatur, Head of Communications, UIU. The Town Hall formally introduced LaunchPad by the University Innovation Hub Program (UIHP) โ an esteemed innovation cohort initiative aimed at transforming university campuses into startup launchpads. The program bridges theoretical learning with real-world problem-solving, encouraging students from diverse backgrounds โ technology, business, and the creative arts โ to turn bold ideas into impactful ventures. A major highlight of the event was the recognition of three outstanding student teams from UITS, who were declared champions of their respective Innovation Cohorts and received pre-seed grants for their projects. The winning teams were: Innovation Cohort 1 (IC1): Team “PELTIERS”, Innovation Cohort 2 (IC2): Team “SOUND VISION”, Innovation Cohort 3 (IC3): Team “CLOUD”. Each team was presented with a special crest, and the Chief Guest personally congratulated the winners for their innovation and dedication. The event marked a significant milestone in UITSโs commitment to fostering entrepreneurial spirit and industry collaboration among its students. It concluded with an optimistic outlook on the future of innovation-led education in Bangladesh.
