University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. The entrepreneurial spirit of Bangladesh’s youth took center stage at the Youth Entrepreneurship Expo 2025, a key feature of the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 held on April 9th at the InterContinental Hotel in Dhaka, the expo provided a dynamic platform for emerging enterprises to connect with potential investors. The event spotlighted 30 promising youth-led ventures from across the nation, showcasing their innovative business ideas to a diverse audience of local and international investors, as well as venture capitalists. Each participating business was provided with a dedicated stall and the valuable opportunity to present their concepts during open pitching sessions. The 30 featured businesses were categorized into four key sectors: ‘IT & Infrastructure’, ‘Craft & Culture’, ‘Agriculture & Food Security’, and ‘Environment & Health’. Founders utilized these sessions to articulate their products and business models directly to investors, emphasizing their ventures’ impact, scalability, and innovative aspects. This selection follows a rigorous evaluation process conducted by the Youth Entrepreneurship Expo team, recognizing the groundbreaking nature of their venture. Team “SOUND VISION” comprised of Ishraq Uddin Chowdhury, Syed Jisan Ahmed, Kazi Md. Azhar Uddin, and Sumaia Bentey Ismail, presented their “smart glass for blind people,” an assistive technology currently in the prototype stage. Ishraq Uddin Chowdhury, Founder and CEO of Soundvision, stated, “Our product is a smart glass for blind people which gives them assistance. Our innovation is currently in the prototype stage and we were looking for investments to take it to the product stage.” The Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025, hosted by the Government of Bangladesh from April 7th to 10th, aims to highlight the nation’s evolving investment climate, characterized by transformative opportunities and significant growth potential. The summit facilitates engagement between global leaders, Fortune 500 executives, and industry pioneers, fostering discussions on the future of investment in Bangladesh’s dynamic market. A significant component, Bangladesh Startup Connect 2025, which took place from April 7th to 9th at the Hotel Intercontinental, specifically focused on connecting global investors with the country’s burgeoning startup ecosystem and key enablers.
