University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. UITS is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organizations.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of international academic excellence by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kyungdong University (Global), South Korea, on May 6, 2025. This landmark agreement underscores UITSโs ongoing commitment to fostering global academic partnerships and expanding collaborative opportunities in higher education. The MoU signing ceremony, organized by the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), was held in honor of a high-level visit by Professor Dr. John Lee, President of KDU Global, and Professor Dr. Nur Alam, Dean of the K-Global Graduate School. Their presence added prestige to the occasion and reaffirmed the shared vision for academic innovation and global engagement. Several distinguished members of UITS graced the ceremony, including Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, Vice Chancellor; Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, Treasurer; Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar; and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Also in attendance were senior academic leaders such as Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Science & Engineering; Professor Dr. M. Rabiul Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Law; and Dr. Farooq Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Business. This strategic partnership is expected to facilitate a range of collaborative initiatives, including global student mobility programs, student exchange initiatives, short vocational training courses, faculty and staff exchange programs, and joint research ventures. Through this MoU, UITS and Kyungdong University (Global) aim to foster innovation, cultural exchange, and academic excellence on a global scale.
