University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) hosted a seminar in collaboration with Kyungdong University (Global), South Korea, to commemorate the signing of a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions. The event took place from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall, UITS on 6 May, 2025. The seminar featured distinguished keynote speeches from Professor Dr. John Lee, President of KDU Global, and Professor Dr. Nur Alam, Dean of the K-Global Graduate School. Both speakers inspired the audience with their insights on global education, innovation, and international collaboration. Over 100 students from various departmentsโincluding Computer Science & Engineering (CSE), Information Technology (IT), Business, and Englishโactively participated in the session. Their enthusiastic presence added significance to the event and reinforced the shared vision of academic excellence and global engagement. Representing UITS at the seminar were Mr. Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Registrar, and Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC).
The MoU signifies a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing academic collaboration across a range of initiatives, such as global student mobility programs, student and faculty exchange, short-term vocational training, and joint research ventures. During the seminar, Professor Dr. John Lee emphasized that KDU Global is committed to financially supporting these collaborations. Highlighting the global learning environment at KDU Global, he noted that the university hosts over 1,500 students from more than 90 countries. UITS students will not only study alongside peers from diverse international backgrounds but will also have the opportunity to visit renowned Korean industries such as Samsung, Hyundai Energy, and other multinational corporations. This collaboration reflects a mutual commitment to empowering students with global exposure, cross-cultural experiences, and the academic foundation needed to thrive in the international arena.
