University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) are thrilled to announce that UITS Team “SoundVision” has been awarded the prestigious “National Youth Summit Startup Grant” The team received special commendation for their innovative project, “Orientation and Mobility Guardian Application for Visually Impaired.”

Their achievement comes following the “Pre-Seed Startup Orientation and Cheque Distribution Event,” held on June 18, 2025 at the iDEA Project office in ICT Tower, Agargaon, Dhaka. This significant event was organized by the “Establishing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development Academy (iDEA)” project, an initiative of the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) under the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Division. The event facilitated the distribution of initial-phase grants to 23 newly selected startups, including Team “SoundVision.” Beyond the grant distribution, it offered a vital platform for startups to gain a comprehensive understanding of the iDEA project and its extensive support facilities. Mr. Murtuza Zulkar Naim Noman, Project Director and Joint Secretary of the iDEA Project, personally presented the pre-seed funding cheques to the selected startups. He extended his sincere well wishes and expressed strong hopes for their success in their future entrepreneurial endeavors. The iDEA Project, operating under the government’s ICT Division and supervised by the Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC), champions the ‘National Youth Summit Startup Grant Program.’ This program is a key initiative designed to transform the innovative ideas of the nation’s young generation into reality, offering entrepreneurs grants of up to BDT 10 lakh to fuel their ventures.
