University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. On the occasion of the 50th Victory Day of Bangladesh and centenary of the Birth of the Father of Nation Bangabandhu Shiekh Mujibur Rahman, BGD e-GOVT CIRT organized the 1st “National Inter-University Cyber Drill 2021” according to the plan of organizing three consecutive cyber drills. A two-day long cyber-drill competition was held from August 23 to 24 among all the universities of Bangladesh. The main objectives of this competition were to enhance the skills of all university students and gave them an idea of cyber-security through participation.
During this very COVID-19 pandemic period the young and intelligent students of UITS arenāt sitting idle, rather they have tried to overcome the situation by enhancing numerous skills IN THE ERA OF Information Technology. As a continuation, they have pushed them to the utmost level through participation in the “Cyber Drill Competition”. The “UITS – University of Information Technology & Sciences” Team Led by the student of the Department of IT, MD Otol Khan (Student ID: 1914555002) and accompanied by the student of the Department of IT, Syeda Aunanya Mahmud ( Student ID: 1914555019) and Nur Muhammad Atikur Rahman from the Department of CSE (Student ID: 151010210006) secured the 2ndĀ position among 280+ universities by scoring 3550 out of 4000 points,Ā where over 1,100+ participants were competing for the glory from both public and private universities.
