University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. Department of Civil Engineering organized âAnInvitation Talk on Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Engineering Degreesâ on April18 2019. The Resource Person was Prof. Dr. A S Md. Abdul Haseeb Dean, Innovative Industry and Sustainability Science Research Cluster Institute of Research Management and Services, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Dr. Mohammed Solaiman, Vice Chancellor University of Information Technology & Sciences(UITS) Dhaka, Bangladesh; Prof. Dr. S.R. Hilaly Treasurer; . Dr. K. M. Saiful Islam Khan, Honorable Advisor BOT, UITS; Professor Dr. Md. Mazharul Hoque Professor & Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering, UITS; Dr. Arifatul Kibria, Associate Professor and Dean, Faculty of Liberal Arts, UITS; Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam, Professor of Chemistry and Advisor(Students Welfare); Dr. Mizanur Rahman, Associate Professor Head, Dept. of EEE; Iftesham Bashar, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering; all the faculty members of Department of Civil Engineering were present there due to acquiring knowledge about the heavy weight discussion of the resource person. The event was ended by following lunch.
After returning from UITS, Dr. Haseeb has shared a humble reflection to Dr. Mazherul Hoque, Dean, SSE, UITS.
