University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. We are delighted to officially announce the Prize Giving Ceremony for the Intra-Department Badminton Championship 2024, proudly organized by the UITS Business Club for the Autumn 2024 semester. This highly anticipated event served as a platform to honor the dedication, determination, and exemplary sportsmanship demonstrated by our students throughout the championship.
The vibrant ceremony was graced by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, the esteemed Treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, and the respected Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies, Dr. Farooq Hossan, along with other distinguished faculty members. The event was presided over by Ms. Farhana Rahman Sumi, Assistant Professor, Department of Business Studies.
The program began with an opening speech by Dr. Farooq Hossan, emphasizing the importance of sports in shaping well-rounded individuals who are not only academically proficient but also physically and mentally resilient. This was followed by a motivating address from the esteemed registrar, Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, and treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, highlighting the role of extracurricular activities in fostering a sense of unity, discipline, and healthy competition among students. The ceremony concluded with an empowering speech by the honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, who commended the participants for their dedication and applauded the organizers for their outstanding efforts in making the event a grand success.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Head of the Department of Business Studies, Dr. Md. Mahadi Hasan;Â the Moderator of the UITS Business Club, Ms. Shumi Sarkar;Â and the Sports Wings Commander, Arif Hossain, along with Noor Hasan Mahmud Khan and Md. Serajum Monir, Lecturers in the Department of Business Studies, for their unwavering support, guidance, and invaluable contributions that made this championship and its ceremony a memorable occasion.
