Its compulsory for the students to complete a thesis or project of 6.0 credits or an internship of 3.0 credits along with an additional optional course from Group I / II / III.

Thesis / Project / Internship Requirement

In case a student selects a research-based thesis, he/she is advised to contact with supervisors directly for details prior to the semester since a quality research work requires time. If both the supervisor and student agree to work on a given topic, the student should complete and return a prescribed application form for thesis registration. Thesis work may last for a semester (six-months) to two semesters (twelve-months). It is highly recommended that the students should produce a publishable research work and expected to publish in a peer-reviewed international journal (Internationally peer-reviewed journals and conferences). 

††Students may choose to complete a final year project of 6.0 credits which gives students a chance to demonstrate all they have learned during their engineering. Duration of the project work may last for a semester (six-months) only.

†††Besides, students can choose an internship of 3.0 credits instead of thesis / project to enhance their occupational experience, do engineering practice, get familiar with the industries. In this case, the student must complete an additional Optional Course from Group I / II / III along with the Internship. The duration of the internship work at a related industry / company is expected to last at least for 3 months. Also, the students are required to submit an Internship report along with the completion certificate of their work from the corresponding industry/ company at the end of their work to the department.

For submission of the final report of Thesis / Project / Internship, the students are required to submit a draft hardcopy to the department for correction and verification. Moreover, it is required to give an oral presentation at the end of the degree for the assessment.
