“Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024 Roadshow & Seminar Engages UITS Students: A Gateway to Global Innovation HUAWEI, a leading global provider of information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices, organized the “Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024” roadshow to engage with students and faculty at the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) on November 11, 2023, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), UITS further facilitated a seminar on “Huawei ICT Competition 2023-2024” at Ratnagarbha Tahmina Rahman Multipurpose Hall from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM on the same day. The seminar commenced with welcome remarks from Engineer Md. Safaet Hossain, Director of IQAC. Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean, Faculty of Science & Engineering and Al-Imtiaz, Assistant Professor & Head of CSE Departments, enriched the session with their valuable addresses. Guest speakers from Huawei Technologies (Bangladesh), Mr. Md. Shajahan Ahmed, Channel Partner Relationship Manager, South Asia Enterprise Business Group, and Mr. Md. Edul Hasan Mithun, Partner Operations Manager, South Asia Enterprise Business Group, delivered two presentations on this prestigious event. The competition aims to bring together universities globally, providing a unique platform for students and faculty members to collaborate, learn, and excel in various disciplines. The Huawei ICT Competition is a global event, now in its second iteration in Bangladesh, operates under the theme of ‘Connection, Glory, and Future.’ The global round of the competition in 2023-2024 will involve participation of 150,000 students from over 2,300 universities across 80 countries. Participants will undergo specific courses from Huawei’s online learning platform, with six winners from the Bangladesh round receiving Huawei laptops. Regional winners will have the opportunity to attend a global camp in China. There, they can learn advanced knowledge of ICT, AI, cloud, network solutions, etc. Participants are allowed to study, prepare, and take mock tests for the three competition rounds: National, Regional, and Global. The seminar not only provides students with information on the competition, its goals, eligibility requirements, and the registration process but also delves into the latest ICT trends and technologies covered in the competition. Huawei offers students an opportunity to learn from Huawei experts and pose questions about the HUAWEI ICT Competition 2023-2024, as part of its commitment to enhancing the ICT knowledge of the young generation.
