Engineering Physics Laboratory

Physics is the study of nature which is demonstrated at Engineering Physics Laboratory. Engineering Physics Laboratory imparts the necessary theoretical knowledge and technical skill for all the budding Engineers of UITS to handle the precision tools and electronic gadgets there by laying the foundation stone for the future technocrats in the practice of their professions. The basic focus in the Engineering Physics Laboratory is to develop scientific temper and encourage students to innovate in diverse technical areas for better understanding of technical and engineering problems. A comprehensive demonstration is carried out by the faculty members for each experiment to help the students in better understanding of the experimental procedure and the theoretical concepts required to perform that experiment. Besides, in every practical class there is a viva-voce test of the concerned experiment to assess the understanding of the students.

Engineering Chemistry Laboratory

Most of the industrial processes of engineering need the knowledge different kinds of chemicals. The Engineering Chemistry Laboratory is one of the introductory laboratories and has a wide range of equipment. Engineering laboratory sessions enable our student to get hands-on experience on the principles discussed in theory sessions and to understand the applications of these concepts in engineering. Engineering Chemistry Laboratory incorporates the experiments which involves the volumetric estimation of chemicals and determination of various properties of fuels.

Electrical Circuit Laboratory

The Electrical Circuits Laboratory is one of the introductory and fundamental laboratories that houses modern equipment to make student familiar with DC Circuits and AC Circuits. We have DC and AC power supply, breadboards, resistors, variable rheostat, ammeters, voltmeters, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters (DMM), function generators and other various types of apparatus to familiarize and give hands on experience to our students with different types of electrical circuits and network theorems.

Electrical Machines Laboratory

Electrical Machines Laboratory is one of the fundamental laboratory that houses DC generator and motor, alternator, induction motor, single phase and three phase transformers, Synchronous motor, Capacitor start capacitor run motor, Star Delta control System, PFI panel, Digital tachometer, Watt-meters and other machineries equipment so that students can become familiar and understand the operation and performance of different AC and DC Electrical Machines. Students can also perform different testing and measurements on Electrical Machines in this laboratory to find out the performance characteristics.

Computer Programming and Simulation Laboratory

Department of EEE & ECE have high performance computer laboratory to support all types of programming and simulation related Laboratory courses like Circuit Simulation, Computer Programming. These highly efficient computers support Code Blocks, Matlab/Simulink, Proteus and different ranges of software. This Laboratory also has multimedia projector and high speed internet service

Digital Electronics Laboratory

Digital Electronics is currently rapidly developing branch of engineering due to its high speed, more accuracy and greater flexibility. Our Digital Electronics Laboratory has modern electronics equipment like different types of IC, Trainer Board, Oscilloscope, Function Generator, IC Tester, Digital and Analog Multimeter, Galvanometer. Demonstration of Boolean logic by using different gate, construction of half adder, half subtractor, full adder, full subtractor, different flip flops, counters and combinational and sequential circuits are carried out in this laboratory. This laboratory is equipped with many modern electronic components that facilitate students to design and test various digital circuits.

Electronic Measurement and Instrumentation Laboratory

Electronic Measurements & Instrumentation  Laboratory is equipped with  oscilloscopes, various trainer kit, Schering Bridge kit, Kelvin Double bridge kit, transducers, signal generators, inductor, capacitor, resistors and various measuring equipment like ammeter, voltmeter, analog and digital multimeters, meggar, energy meter, Galvanometer. This laboratory enables students to understand the fundamentals of various measuring instruments, to demonstrate a clear understanding of the suitability of a Digital to Analog converter for a particular application and students also learn to apply different technique of measurements of certain electrical apparatus.

Industrial and Power Electronics Laboratory

Power electronics technology is an emerging technology and it has found its way into many applications. This laboratory provides a strong bridge between the theory and applications of Power electronics based devices. This Laboratory has power electronics devices like DIAC, TRIAC, SCR, UJT, IGBT and many more to determine their characteristics and modes of operation.

Communication Laboratory

Communication is the connecting tool of modern technology and has brought the world closer. Our Communication Laboratory is featured with different communication laboratory training modules like analog signal sampling and reconstruction, Amplitude Modulation (AM) transmitter and receiver, DSBSC modulator and demodulator, Frequency Modulation (FM) transmitter and receiver, FDM and TDM, different Pulse modulator and demodulator (PAM, PPM, PDM), different digital modulator and demodulator (ASK, PSK, FSK, QPSK), Optical Fiber Communication Trainer board, signal generator, oscilloscope to perform a wide range of laboratory experiments on Communication related courses. Students can demonstrate experimentally the basic characteristics of various telecommunication sub‐systems, and record performance parameters using measuring instruments. Students also collaborate in a team to research and analyze a composite telecommunication problem and synthesize a solution in this laboratory.

Microprocessor-Microcontroller Laboratory

This laboratory houses equipment and apparatus for microprocessor and microcontroller, which is one of our fundamental laboratory courses. This laboratory has various types of microprocessor and microcontroller trainer kits along with various interfacing modules. We have Arduino hardware and software to demonstrate the practical applications of microcontroller. Students also learn microprocessor programming language by using our fast and robust computers. This laboratory gives students a practical experience to design and test simple to advanced level microprocessor based projects.

Power System Protection Laboratory

Power System Protection is a powerful engineering branch that deals with electrical system protection. This spacious laboratory has well equipped apparatus for conducting experiments on Power System Protection devices. Students become familiar with various types of relays, circuit breakers, fuses, automatic circuit recloser and other power system LT and HT switchgear and protective devices in this laboratory. This laboratory also familiarizes students with different types of electrical faults and approach to clear system faults.

Digital Signal Processing Laboratory

Digital signal processing has a wide range of practical applications like audio and speech processing, digital image processing, signal processing for telecommunications, control systems, biomedical engineering and many others. Our students learn handling of continuous and discrete signals, understand the basic operations of signal processing and can design signal processing algorithm using MATLAB in our Digital Signal Processing Laboratory.

Control Systems Laboratory

Automated process control is an integral part of modern industry. Control system deals with the design, development, and overall operation of hardware and software elements for industrial process control. Experiments based on Control systems are carried through in our Control System Laboratory. Modeling of different physical system and study of their open and closed loops response, different feedback systems and controllers are designed and simulated in MATLAB Simulink environment.

VLSI Laboratory

VLSI (Very Large Scale Integration) is the technology used to create small microchips which are capable of performing various operations. VLSI are extensively used in many applications include microprocessors in a personal computer or workstation, chips in a graphic card, digital camera, chips in a cell phone or a portable computing device, and embedded processors in an automobile and many more. We have well equipped VLSI laboratory which enables our students to get the basic knowledge of VLSI design. This advanced computer based laboratory has software for IC layout designing and validation. Design of different logic gates, multiplexer, CMOS inverter, MOSFET and many more design and applications based experiments are performed in this laboratory.
