INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.

Professor Dr. Satish Chandra, Professor of IIT, Roorkee and currently the Director of Indian Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) of Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), made a courtesy visit to the Department of Civil Engineering, UITS on 29th July 2019 and shared their experiences of CRRI research activities in the areas of civil engineering disciplines focusing on the aspects of road transportation research innovations and practices in the light of policy implications.
He placed immense emphasis on the role of civil engineering professions in alleviating the serious and growing complex transportation problem in the rural and urban areas. Professor Chandra has expressed his interests and extended his supports for the students and teachers for pursuing training, research and higher degrees at CSIR in collaboration with UITS. Professor Dr. Md. Mazharul Hoque, Professor & Dean, School of Science & Engineering, Professor Dr. Nazrul Islam Professor of Chemistry and Advisor (Students Welfare), Romana Saila, Assistant Professor & Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering. Mr. Mushab Bin Khondker, Engineer and Consultant accompanied Professor Chandra along with CE faculty members were present in the discussion. Faculty members of Department of Civil Engineering exchanged their views with Professor Chandra on contemporary issues of social concerns in transportation sectors of Bangladesh and India.
