University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. UITS is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organizations.

On December 31, 2023, and January 1, 2024, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Sciences hosted a project demonstration as part of capstone project. Total 160 students divided into 45 teams participated in this program. The event aimed to boost up the students’ future career endeavors.
The Honorable Vice Chancellor (acting) of UITS, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan, followed by the Honorable Treasurer Prof. Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed, and the Honorable Director of Finance and Accounts Mr. Sobhit Bikash Barua, FCMA, the Honorable Dean of the Faculty of Science and Engineering, Professor Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, and the Assistant Professor and Department Head Mr. Al-Imtiaz, were present in the event. The event was enlightened by Mr. Mohammad Moniruzzaman, the Managing Director and CEO at OS IT Solutions Ltd. Bangladesh, as a special guest from the industrial advisory panel. All faculty members attended to support and celebrate the students’ achievements.
The technical and innovative projects showcased by the students not only serve as a foundation for their future careers but also hold the promise of contributing significantly to the development of the country.
