INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.

The department of Civil Engineering, UITS arranged a seminar on February 26, 2020 at 2.00 pm in the conference room of UITS titled as “Dhaka City & Citizens Working Together to Make Democratic Municipal Solid Waste Management through Ward-Based Approach (WBA)”. Mr. Akio Ishii, Advisor, JICA presented a keynote speech over viewing the present waste management approach and the future plan to make Dhaka a greener and cleaner city .The other renowned speakers were Professor Dr. Mohammed Solaiman, Vice Chancellor, UITS, Professor Dr. K M Saiful Islam Khan, Advisor to the BOT, Professor Dr. Md. Mazharul Hoque , Professor and Dean, School of Science and Engineering, Dr. Nazrul Islam, DSW, Aysha Akter, Head, Department of Civil Engineering, Mr. Kiohey Yamamoto Mamun, Advisor, Local Governance, NILG, Ministry of LGRD & C and Mr. Md. Shoriful Alam Mondal, National Team Leader, JICA SWM Technical Cooperation Project.
