University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. UITS is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organizations.

The Department of Business Studies, University of Information Technology & Sciences (UITS), completed its “Sports Week”. The event was a resounding success with students, faculty, and staff coming together to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The sports week was sponsored by Care Nutrition Ltd.
On October 12, 2023, the Department of Business Studies, UITS concluded its “Sports Week” with a prize giving ceremony. The ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including the Honorable Vice Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Abu Hashan Bhuiyan; Treasurer, Professor Dr. Siraj Uddin Ahmed; Dean, Faculty of Business, Dr. Farooq Hossan; Registrar, Mohammad Kamrul Hasan and the Head, Dr. Mahadi Hasan. The guests gave away trophies and medals to the winning players and teams in various sports, including football & ludu. Â In the football final match, team Speed Breaker defeated the team Kings to become the champions. The runners-up were team Kings. In the ludu game, Meherun Nesa achieved 1st place, Abu Bakar achieved 2nd and Sheikha Islam Nadia achieved 3rd place.
