University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. UITS is a science and technological knowledge-based center that provides marketable skills for younger generations who may be gainfully employed both national and international organizations.

The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), hosted a high-level academic meeting on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, aimed at exploring and enhancing international academic collaboration with Millersville University, United States of America. This initiative represents a significant step in UITSβs continued efforts to establish and strengthen global academic partnerships.
During the visit, Professor Dr. Dan Kulmala, Assistant Vice President for International Programs & Global Engagement at Millersville University, engaged in in-depth discussions with academic representatives from the Departments of Computer Science and Engineering, Business Studies, and English. These sessions focused on potential collaborative initiatives, including student and faculty exchange programs, joint degree pathways, and interdisciplinary research opportunities.Β
Following the meetings, ProfessorΒ Dr. Dan Kulmala visitedΒ several key facilities at UITS to gain a comprehensive understanding of the universityβs academic infrastructure. His visit included the modern library, computer laboratories, robotics laboratory, English language lab, and various classrooms of CSE and BBA departmentsβproviding insights intoΒ UITSβsΒ commitment to quality education and innovation.Β The visit concluded with a shared commitment from both institutions to pursue the proposed collaborative initiatives and to further strengthen academic ties in the coming years.
