University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. The University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Computer Science & Engineering (CSE) are delighted to announce that two of its seven participating teams have been awarded Silver Medal and Bronze Medal at the 7th World Invention Competition & Exhibition (WICE) 2025 National Qualifier Round, held on May 30, 2025. Out of 120 competing teams, these two UITS teams distinguished themselves, securing their spots to represent Bangladesh at the prestigious international WICE 2025 event in Malaysia. Organized by the Indonesia Young Scientist Association (IYSA), WICE is a globally recognized platform that brings together bright young minds to showcase groundbreaking ideas across science, technology, engineering, and social innovation. The global round of WICE 2025 in Malaysia is scheduled for September 21-26, 2025
The top 15 teams from this national round have earned the invaluable opportunity to represent Bangladesh at the grand WICE 2025 event in Malaysia. WICE Bangladesh is dedicated to providing comprehensive guidance and unwavering support to all selected teams, ensuring they are fully prepared for the final competition. The WICE 2025 competition encompasses both international and national segments, offering a wide array of categories for participants. The International Segments include IT & Robotics, Environmental Science, Innovative Social Science, Applied Physics & Engineering, and Applied Life Science. Within each category, participants are eligible for various awards, including Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals, along with special recognitions such as the Best Country Representative (CR) Award, Best Project Award, DoB Special Award, TA Special Award, and a Participation Award. This event will encourage the participants to develop resilience, confidence, adaptability, and collaborative intelligence โ all the necessary skills needed in this disruptive age. These skills are essential to help them transform according to market shifts and trends.
