University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS), the first IT-based private university in Bangladesh was founded on 7 August 2003 as a non-profit organization. INFORMATION SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY SOLUTION LTD. (ISTS), a concern of PHP group headed by Alhaj Sufi Mohamed Mizanur Rahman Chowdhury is the sponsor of UITS.
UITS added the latest education system to its curriculum to developing the knowledge and skills of the students as well as integrated human values in the education system. ITS_RunningOnTest01, a Programming team of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS) has shown outstanding performance in National Collegiate Programming Contest (NCPC) which was held in the International University of Business Agriculture and Technology (IUBAT) on 04 August 2018. The team of UITS ranked 82 out of 149 teams from different universities of Bangladesh solving 3 out of 10 problems where the champion team from Dhaka University solved 7 problems. The UITS_RunningOnTest01 consists of 5 members including Habibur Rahman, Shahidullah Al Kafi, and Jerry Barmon as contestant, Mr. Jaydeb Sarker (Lecturer, Department of CSE) as co-coach, and Mr. Habibur Rahman (Lecturer, Department of CSE) leads the team as a coach. In this year, UITS_RunningOnTest01 has surpassed many teams from different renowned public and private universities of Bangladesh.
The contest has been organized by the Department of CSE, IUBAT in association with ICT Division of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh, and Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC). In this contest, 4 teams solved 7 problems, 15 teams solved 6 problems, 17 teams solved 5 problems, 20 teams solved 4 problems, 30 teams including UITS_RunningOnTest01solved 3 problems, 36 teams solved 2 Problems, 11 teams solved 1 problem and other 16 teams couldn’t solve any problem.
