MOU Signing Ceremony between UITS Civil Engineering Department and Transfotech Global Bangladesh

On 24 September 2024, a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony took place at the conference room of the University of Information Technology and Sciences (UITS). The Department of Civil Engineering, UITS, and Transfotech Global Bangladesh formalized a collaboration aimed at enhancing the connection between industry and academia.

The agreement is designed to address key objectives such as comprehensive training and skill development, industry internships, joint Post Graduate Diploma (PGD) programs, on-the-job training, and campus-based training for fresh graduates. This partnership also opens doors for student placements in foreign universities through credit transfer programs, expert contributions to the university’s academic syllabus improvement, and awareness sessions on emerging technologies.

Dr. Nur Mohammad Shuman, Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering, UITS, and Jesmen Khan, Country Director of Transfotech Global Bangladesh, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations. The ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Md. Ashraful Islam, Dean of Faculty of Science and Engineering, UITS, Md. Tarikul Islam, Assistant Professor and Proctor of UITS, Akib Mahmud, Operation Head at Transfotech Global Bangladesh​. Faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department were present in the signing ceremony.

This MoU will help UITS students by providing direct access to industry-relevant training and internships, improving their employability. It also opens pathways to international placements and offers on-campus training, giving them the skills and opportunities necessary to thrive in a competitive job market.

This collaboration will empower UITS students with practical skills that are crucial for the job market, while fostering innovation and bridging the gap between academia and industry in Bangladesh.
